I don't understand why you say the x1950pro GPU is a disappointment. It's direct competitors are the 7900gs/7900gt, not the 7950gt. The 7900gs is 180USD, the x1950pro 200USD, and the 7900gt 225USD. The x1900xt is slotted against the 7950gt in price and performance.

When compared to its pricing competition, the x1950pro performs quite well at stock speeds. And the stock x1950pro performed as expected against the more expensive 7950gt... comparable sometimes; slower most times.

Almost all recent ATI cards have proven to have much less overclocking headroom compared to NVidia and ATI actually discourages its manufacturers from releasing OC'd versions. So OC ability shouldn't completely sway your opinion of the GPU.

7900GT is now discontinued and we compare the GeCube X1950PRO against the 7950GT as they are the same price.

i agree with ramarc,

the 7950gt is more expensive in most cases and especially in street value.

it does under perform but it is still better in price/performance ratio albeit slightly.

I've just purchased this card to along with my Asus p5k board, 2gb ram and a Intel Quad core Q6600.

Not a big gamer, but didnt realise that the P5K and moderm mobo's dont have a AGP port ;)

Regards.
