Hello all - You may be interested to know that there is an active group of Mvix owners out there who help each out in forums. So the Mvix product is not a 'here today, gone tomorrow' device.

Incidentally, as mentioned in the post, the 760 runs on Linux and there are a bunch of enthusiasts who are/have been working on hacking the firmware in various ways. We also maintain a wiki for that info and more.
