from the description of how this works it sounds to me to have an action very similar to the old Microsoft dual shock sidewinder....that was a controller that had a large "knuckle" type ball joint in the middle. When you moved the one half of the controller in the inner region of movement then the crosshairs move a given distance and remain there until you return the controller to it's original position....only when you move into the outer region of the controllers movement does the look continue to move without further controller displacement (sorry but its kind of hard to describe verbally).
Problem with that type of control is that you have to continually re centre your look perspective particularly if you turning corners in corridors etc.....otherwise good but that problem was a real spoiler to be honest.
