I'm happy to wait.. I'd rather get myself a decent quadcore chip and 8Gb of RAM for my Asus Striker II Formula for now. I can put up with the fan noise (although I wish I didn't have to).
I'm going to save up for a few months, maybe a year, and see what is available then. Yes, the Intel i7 stuff looks fantastic, but whats the point in buying a new set up now when it will be more or less the same as what I have now? The i7 mobo's available now aren't really that much better as they still seem to have USB 2 and SATA 2 as standard. Once they get SATA 3 working I'll be looking forward to seeing: SATA 3 Solid State drives, that will be something to look forward to! PCI-E gen 3 and PCI-E 2 (as in the next step up) SATA 3 and USB 3 look really good on paper - but will they end up like RIMM RAM? Sold as the next best thing since sliced bread only to turn out to be god darn aweful? I don't know, but I will wait and see. |

Hmm, the other solutions would be a seriously bad cheat if true - I trust the others will follow a technically more correct path and provide full performance or they are not going to sell a thing.
Reads like an advert for Asus btw..
