this stuff is designed specifically to *only* fill gaps and give a level surface. quick wiki quote: "Because thermal grease's thermal conductivity is poorer than the metals they couple, it is important to use no more than is necessary to exclude air gaps" and I say again... lord have mercy!

worst bit is, right after the pic, "A nice even coating should do the trick." :|
