just one major question i didn't see any reference in the review...
can it play a subtitles file (.srt,.sub,..) ...like divx dvd players?
and if it does.. can it play middle east languages subs...like arbic,hebrew..
and so..

Is this based off the Network Media Tank project?

This box seems perfect if not lack of the ethernetsupport.
Has anyone tried to connect a USB to ethernet adapter? Can this work? I mean a ethernet adapter that makes itself behave as MassStorage adapter. Is this even possible? Has anyone seen such?

Anyway here is specification link:

WD TV HD Media Player ( WDAVN00 )

And here is link to where to download latest GPL Code:

WD Support > Downloads > Home Entertainment > WD TV HD Media Player

This seems to be a hit, if only one would have native support for ISO, Blueray container and network. Maybe possible to add into GPL code? Even drivers for USB network cards?`

I am thrilled!!! :D

Did you have to format the pen drive in NTFS? (Because of the FAT32 4GB filesize limitation). If so, how? through windows? separate app?

you can do it through windows...

I've formatted my friend external hard-drive for this WD Media Player and it works fine.
