And i like System internals Autoruns utility to find all those nasty programs that startup with my system and stop them if need be:

and if you have kids or share a computer with someone Microsoft's shared computer toolkit comes in handy:

Do you talk about boot soft like LILO and GRUB that can allow you to boot to different systems?
