Is there a way to do a system restore in dos?

Doesn't booting with the ME startup disk and repairing the installation work? :?:

I know you can restore the registry from DOS. If you don't have scanreg on the boot floppy, it's in C:\windows\command. Run scanreg/restore at the command prompt. It dosen't do everything that system restore does, but it may fix the problem.
