Need a hand identifying drivers for my Sony Vaio
Model: PCG-791M
I've found the driver ftp site but theres hundreds of drivers for the specific devices i need, I dont have the time or willpower to try each and every one untill i find the ones i nees, so im asking for a hand please.
I'm after:
Ethernet Controller
Mass Storage Controller
PCI Device
Video Controller
Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
I would appreciate any help in finding out exactly which drivers I need to download for these, I know vaios are troublesome laptops but i just couldnt resist the sheer beauty, I'm sure some of you understand out there.
thanks very much
p.s. the driver ftp is: ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/PUB/Vaio

The other way to find the right drivers for your cards is to get the numbers from them, for example, a sticker or written on board, it should say something about that card. and if you can't find any, try getting the numbers and search it online, it may come up with something., i use the altavista search engine and i use the quote on my searches. works best.

Now what was the question about DC again?
Altavista? Wasn't that something from back in the 90's?

Re: Need a hand identifying drivers for my Sony Vaio
if the system was purchsed new, it should have all the drivers you need plus the recover system files on a partition on the hard drive, you just need to make the cd's and if you did that you already have the drivers,
also you should be able to go to the sony web sight and download all the drivers for you model computer.

Re: Need a hand identifying drivers for my Sony Vaio
Sony Vaio PCG-791M is the same as VGN-FS115M
I've already tried and worked fine in XP Pro SP2
Download the Preinstalled drivers
Good Luck
