Default upgrading/overclocking my rig for more BOINC performance

I have a current configuration of Q9550 1.275V (400FSBx8.5) 3.4GHZ, OCZ Urban Elite Edition 8.8.8.24 1.95V at 1600 MHZ with a 4.00D multiplier with a 9800GT GPU. Mobo is X48T-DQ6. I'm planning to upgrade to crossfire as my mobo supports only Crossfire. Currently I'm wondering if my cpu causes bottleneck for dual 4870X2 during BOINC? Thank you.

Although I'm waiting for 5870X2 cards, i believe if 4870X2 on BOINC doesn't suffer any bottleneck, then it won't with 5870X2.

ATi cards will serve you no purpose with BOINC at this time.

nVIDIA cards atm will give you more crunching power with certain projects.

Your answer is irrelevant to the question. As of your statement, ATI cards provide crunching, like in Milkyway@home and i don't intend to change my mobo just to have a single Nvidia while i can have dual ATI.

Well that's the 1st that I've heard of as BOINC itself only supports CUDA cards though I only run SETI & Rosetta so Milkway must have its own ATi support within its own program.
