Unhappy norton red X

I had panda anti virus on my computor and it expired . I removed it from my computor using the add and remove program. I change to netzero which has norton with the program. When I installed norton the red x comes up which states panda platumin 7 out of service your computor is not secure. I contacted norton and the tech said to go to panda for removal I can't go to panda because i no longer have the activation code.
there is still some part of panda in the computor but I can not find it.

Is it the red x for the Windows Firewall or the red x for Norton? If it is the red x for the Windows Firewall, don't worry about it. If it is the red x for Norton, then it might be one of many problems with Norton.

If it is Panda giving you problems, nothing short of a full format is going to get that garbage off your PC.. Panda is THE WORST program to ever disgrace the planet. It is nearly impossible to fix what that garbage does. Norton's is not much better. They should be paying you to use it. AVGFree is the best possible free Anti-Virus out there. Go to Panda's site and look for a removal tool, otherwise, start backing up your data for a full fresh install of windows.

try running ccleaner it may get rid of some of some of the files that is messing with your anti-virus software. if that doesn't fix it try also running registry mechanic that also might be able to clean out anything that is causing a problem on your system. It is also good practice to get into after uninstalling a large program such as an anti-virus program to run a registry cleaner or ccleaner because the uninstallers never get rid of everything that it should.
