Well S3 sleeps is very dependent on all settings used (System must be 100% stable or close) and of course the BIOS Version matters as well.

And yes, certain very high FSB may never resume, as that is a power saving feature. Something 500+ FSB is not

Hi all. This post caught my eye since it mentions the RAM i'm trying to install/OC directly.
Intel C2D E6550 (355x7)
Gigabyte EP43-DS3 (BIOS=F7)
4x1Gb Crucial Ballistix 1066 5-5-5-15 2.0v
XP Pro x64 SP2

I currently have only two sticks of the RAM installed with but want to move away from Auto settings and add the other two sticks. The reviews are based on P35 and P45 boards and I wondered if anyone could help a novice get started on some adjustments.
I realise all hardware is unique and could well be above or below average - I appear to have found the limit of my CPU albeit very low compared to some other installations.
Any help would be very welcome.

Hey, you updated an old thread lol!

Have you taken a look at the user review LSDMeasap has made for your ram? It givies you example timings to work on using the P45 chispet.

Things may not act the same for you however as you are using the P43 chipset. :)

Yep. I had read that post - not in its entirety but everything relevant to my situation. I was hoping to find something specific to my chip but its looking doubtful. Which setup would be best to assume as a starter? P35 or P45?
Thanks for your reply

P45 settings would be the same for you on P43, the P43 chipset is just a crippled P45 so you would be fine working with the P45 settings I provided.

If you need further help please feel free to ask
