I do believe this Mushkin would work great in your system, you could always ask the guys at Mushkin's forum to be sure. I only mentioned that because of the various sets you mentioned.
I am sure they know and would be quick to reply, just join and make a new post >> < Mushkin - Forums

Thanks for the review. I didn't know who Mushkin was 20 days ago. I got some 996679 (looks to be the dual channel kit of the same stuff)
I have a dumb question. I am running mine at 1.64V @1600 Do I need to? What will happen if I just leave voltage at "auto" Will it simply run cooler or will this effect performance?

Do you need to what? Sorry I am a bit unclear on what you are asking.
If you are stable under specification voltages that is fine, and often normal with Mushkin! Auto, I would not advise though because sometimes it may not be enough, set and test your own amounts 1.6-1.66 should be fine for 1600Mhz Nice to see you found a set of Mushkins! They make some very high quality products!! Hey, how do you like your Torqx?

I am just asking if you NEED to change the voltage to spec or if it's better to leave on auto.
The Torqx is the single best upgrade I have made. I LOVE it. I've had it for about 3 months now and it's complicated to get set up (right) so you don't have unnecessary writes to it. Some people don't worry about it. Patriot has a 10 year warranty so.....I would highly recommend the Torqx.

The current issue of PC Format actually slated the Torqx quite badly. They compared it side by side to the OCZ Vertex, which is an identical drive, just with different firmware.
The summary had two positives which were: ARM based Ildilinx controller Huge 10 year warranty The bad points were: Catastrophic stuttering Poor performance across the board "Our file decompression test - the OCZ drive sliced through it in 40 seconds. The Patriot meanwhile, took a yawning 2 minutes and 56 seconds. It's also three times slower [than the Vertex] during application installs and took twice as long to load a level of World in Conflict" It's possible they received a defective drive, but that seems rare. They also updated the firmware with no performance improvement. All this was from factory fresh, so degradation did not cause the issues. They also used the drive restoring app, wiper.exe. I'm sure it's much faster than a mechanical HDD, but for me, I'd steer clear of it, especially as the OCZ Vertex is faster and also cheaper, if only by a few £. Like I say, it's possible they got it wrong, but I've been trusting their benchmarking and opinions since 1991, and they haven't steered be wrong yet. Even the £105 Kingston 64Gb outperformed it, alhough that drive had stuttering issues too. All their tests were carried out on a 3.8GHz i7 920 and a Gigabyte UD5 mobo in Win 7 RTM.

Interesting...
I have not read that. I would be considered a "power user" and I have not seen "stuttering" I hope I don't see it. I AM just using it for a "boot drive" and have it set up so most small writes go to a mechanical drive. Maybe I will have to test it like they do and I would see the same thing. I have read some very good reviews of the drive also.
