Patriot Extreme Ram Voltage

I ordered ram for my computer without doing proper research and am just curious if anyone has experience with this issue.

The ram in question is Patriot Extreme Performance PC2-6400 and is a 2GB pair (4BG total) designed to run at 800mhz with 5-5-5-12 settings. The problem is that my motherboard (Asus m2n-e sli) only allows me to set vdimm voltage to 1.95 and the ram I ordered is recommended at 2.0V. I have yet to receive the ram but it is already on the way so I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what issues I may run into or suggestions as to how I should set latencies to make the undervolted ram work at a decent preformance level.

.5 off volts off....dont worry about it to much. might be a little slower but not by much.... So you saying you cant get the voltage up? kinda like overclocking if you know wat im talking about...

tell me what you know
You know how get into the bios and set it urself.........if not then like i said .5 volts off should be nothing......

I read your PC specs and doesnt look like the patriot rams you bought are gonna go to well with your cpu and the ram you already have?...correct me if im wrong..

From what I can see the only issue is prolly the voltage. My bios (latest for the board) does not give me an easy way to increase vdimm beyond 1.95v. I do have .05 increase choices from 1.8 to 1.95 but the joy stops there. Not sure if the reason is a physical limit or just bios but the option is not there.

I'll be putting the current ram into another system I'm building. My mobo is rated at a max of 8GB ram and I'm using a 64 bit O/S so I should be alright on the software side of things. You may also be correct about the CPU having problems with 800mhz ram but with the ram on the way is also an Athlon X2 6400+ and a Corsair TX650 PSU. ...just a bit of a jump from current configuration.... . Any and all ideas/suggestions welcome.

Ahhhhh...... much better. The new RAM works good, new CPU works good, and the new PSU works good! I thought I'd prolly have to reauthenticate Vista after changing CPU and RAM at least .... but nope. I did wind up resetting CMOS but even that went smoothly.

3DMark06 went from 5022 with my SLIed 7600GTs to 7541 when I went to the single 8800GTS a couple of weeks ago. Now that I've finished upgrading (for now) my score is at 9853. Time to do a bit of gentle overclocking and see what happens.

I have the same RAM, Patriot Extreme Performance Ram 4-4-4-12 @2.2. Mine will work fine at 4-4-4-12 at stock voltage of 1.97v on my mobo. I do keep them at 2.2 volts just to be on the safe side.
If you find your set up unstable at 4-4-4-12 u can still use the 5-5-5-15 setting. I've also used this ram on my Asus M2N32 SLI Deluxe without problems.
