Taipei, Taiwan, June 7th, 2006 – Promoting high-performance platforms for mainstream computing, FOXCONN, the global leader in the design and manufacture of computer, communications and consumer electronic components, is set to launch the RoHS-compliant P9657AA-8EKRS2Hmotherboard featuring the latest Intel^® P965 Express chipset that supports the next-generation Intel^® Core^™ 2 Duo processor, as well as the Intel^® Core^™ Duo, Intel^® Pentium^® Extreme Edition or Intel^® Pentium^® 4 processor.

One of the first Intel^® P965-based motherboards to hit the market, the P9657AA-8EKRS2H delivers all-new technologies that accelerate system response time, optimize power use, boost memory bandwidth, and intelligently allocate CPU resources. Combined with the Intel^® Core^™ 2 Duo processor, the P9657AA-8EKRS2H offers cutting-edge computing performance while keeping power consumption to a minimum. The P9657AA-8EKRS2H also highlights dynamic fan control and thermal management to pave the way for cooler and quieter PCs.

The P9657AA-8EKRS2Hcomes with a commanding 1066/800 MHz Front Side Bus optimized for rigorous office/home computing, home entertainment, and extreme gaming applications. The dual-channel memory architecture supports up to 8 GB system memory using DDR2 667 MHz memory modules and effectively brings the required bandwidth for memory-intensive and multi-tasking applications. Through the revolutionary FOX One technology, the P9657AA-8EKRS2H supports memory DDR2 800 MHz while maintaining stable operation and robust control over critical system status including temperatures, fan rotations and voltages.

Providing fast and effortless system expansion, the P9657AA-8EKRS2H motherboard has a PCI Express^® x16, a PCI Express^® x4, a PCI Express^® x1, and three PCI slots to support a complete range of graphics and I/O interface cards. The PCI Express^® x16 slot prepares the board for multiple display configurations and adaptable video connectivity via ADD2 (Advanced Digital Display 2) cards.

The P9657AA-8EKRS2Halso includes a high-end storage solution with the Intel^® ICH8R Southbridge supporting up to six internal SATAII 3 Gb/s hard disk drives and an external SATAII 3 Gb/s connector. SATAII 3 Gb/s storage interface doubles the storage bus bandwidth and accelerates data read and write processes for mission-critical applications while efficiently operating on low power. The external SATAII connector enables the user to install additional storage for back-up that can be RAID enabled as well. Implementing Intel^® Matrix Storage Technology, the P9657AA-8EKRS2H offers a complete consumer-level RAID solution including RAID 0, 1, 0+1, 5 and JBOD multi-disk configurations essential for faster performance and rigid data protection.

Affording a 7.1-channel audio output and High Definition (HD) Audio, the P9657AA-8EKRS2H produces high-quality surround sound vital in gaming and entertainment applications. The P9657AA-8EKRS2H exclusively backs the Dolby Home Theater^™ and Dolby^® Master Studio^™ technologies to offer a completely digital audio solution from playback to recording. This technology brings true home theater surround-sound quality through advanced digital signal processing technologies that dynamically adapts to the media, mood, listening environment, and audience and also permits creation of audio or movie DVDs with discrete, multi-channel Dolby Digital surround sound using advanced audio rendering with flexible controls, and the latest sound processing.

The P9657AA-8EKRS2H also features strong connectivity to wired networks through the Gigabit Ethernet controller embedded in the Intel^® ICH8R chip. Utilizing the PCI Express^® technology, the LAN controller brings high-bandwidth and dependable network connections with minimum CPU intervention for optimized system performance.

Delivering complete support for digital peripherals and devices, the P9657AA-8EKRS2H supports up to ten high-speed USB 2.0 ports and two IEEE 1394a ports (one at mid-board).
