Default HDMI Resolution

Hey all. I wanted to know if anyone else seems to have this issue. I have my SG33G5M hooked up to my Magnavox 42" plasma via the on board HDMI. No matter what resolution I set the video to I can never get a sharp picture, I get some ghosting (not with everything mostly text), and worst of all it never fits the full screen. It's either to small (leaving black unused edges all around the desktop) or its to big (making it so that my start button, icons and task bar are off the screen completely)I tried updating the drivers but that also didn't seem to change anything. I got my 5M Jan 08.

I tried to install vista to see if maybe this would fix the problem but there was no change. Anyone have any idea why this is happening? It it just me? I read somewhere that there have been other people with a similar problems but I can't find that post. Sorry if I am posting old news.

You need to adjust your output res to suit that of the TV though I'd certainly want/require a better video card to suit that size screen.

Turns out I had to get the manufacture of my TV to replace the I/O board in my TV. Once that was fixed everything fit on the TV and there were no black edges. the original problem seemed to have been that the HDMI input on the TV was shot so it couldn't adjust to the output from the PC.
