Support - Changes on new BIOS - SG33S119 - for SG33G5

Anyone has flash this and let me know if you feel any changes? I want to know the changes made to this BIOS, but all they said is Updated CPU micro code, whatever that means. Shuttle Support, what does micro code do?

That BIOS (SG33S119) was available for a brief time here in the US.

Then , the page was no longer avialable to US. Shuttle redirected to a new page:

This page has only BIOS SG33U117 listed and provides information:

"Initial BIOS", after more than one and one-half years - how very informative.

I programmed this one in.

Compared to the previous BIOS dated July 2007;

- It provided the 'half' multiplier that was needeed for the Q9550 (multiplier 8.5).
- It also raised the default Vcore from about 1.100 Volts to ~1.25 Volts.

I read that someone speculated that the 'U' BIOS was strictly for US Shuttles. I asked a Shuttle tech at Shuttle US headquarters, he denied any knowledge and told me that the 'U' was all that was available.
