So I set the above timings and DDR voltage to +0.2 in BIOS on my first board which was a DS3L rev 2.0 and it died on me (well known endless boot cycle) I have it RMA and exchenged for a DS3R rev2.1. Now I am a little afraid to try that again, since I read people also had the same problem with this board. What do you guys suggest to do in order to run my pc safe and stable with my DDR at the 4-4-4-12 timings at 800MHz? Should I increase the MCH and/or FSB voltage too? PS: my PC specs (in case they help): Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3GHz (9x333), GA-P35-DS3R (2.1), kit 2x1G DDR2 A-Data Vitesta EE 800+, Galaxy GeForce 8600GT 512/128, HDD WD 160G Sata2, HDD WD 500G Sata2, DVD/RW - IDE, PSU Sirtec 460W |

thanks, i lowered my subtimings starting from the ones you told me. I have them reduced a little like this:
ACT to ACT Delay (tRRD)___________3 Write to Precharge Delay___________3 Refresh to ACT Delay______________32 Read to Precharge Delay___________3 and the voltages of the DDR2, FSB and MCH set as you adviced me. It runs stable with this timins set, BUT the memory bandwidth and latency benchmarks with Everest and Sisoft Sandra shows me poorer results than running the memory at stock timings and voltage. Why is that? I have to tight up the subtimings even more? Last edited by weckker; 05-05-2008 at 05:51 AM. Reason: bad English :d |

DDR2 timings/subtimings in Bios are set as following:
CAS Latency Time_______________ 4 Dram RAS# to CAS# Delay________ 4 Dram RAS# Precharge Delay_______ 4 Precharge Delay (tRAS)___________ 12 ACT to ACT Delay (tRRD)_________ 3 Rank Write to READ Delay________ 11 Write to Precharge Delay_________ 6 (i got this wrong in my previous post) Refresh to ACT Delay____________ 32 Read to Precharge Delay_________ 3 Static tRead Value______________ 10 Static tRead Phase Adjust________ auto and MemSet reports them as in the attached picture |

Thank you
I lowerd my subtimings to ACT to ACT------------------3 Write to Read delay---------7 Write to precharge----------6 Refresh to ACT--------------26 Read to Precharge-----------3 Static tRead value----------6 Static tRead Phase Adjust---auto it runs stable with pretty good results so I'm gonna let it work like this. Thank you again for helping! |

Anytime. Nice to see you got refresh to act so low. I would have suggested lower then I did but most cannot get it to run lower then 38 or so. Nice to see tRead on 6 for you as well! Sounds like good ram for it being a cheaper brand!
