can't install win7-64 on a >2tb raid0?

I tried installing win7-64 on a newly installed 4TB raid0 array and it won't if partitioned w/GPT. When I partitioned using MBR it split into two volumes, one 2048 and the other with the remaining which was unformattable. Any suggestions?

MB: Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5
BIOS: F9e
CPU: i7 920
Mem: Corsair TR3X6G1600C8D Dominator 6 GB@1600
HDD: 1 X Seagate 1.5 TB (win7-64 boot drive) & 2 X 2TB Hitachi in RAID0

Use the MBR method there is a limitation with the other, load your OS, once loaded you can use disc management to fix the rest.

Tried MBR, still wouldn't install.

You must install Windows 7 on a smaller partition size. Then in windows use disk management to partition the rest for data.

There are many sources to backup data.
I use Windows easy transfer now.

If I had 2 TB with a X58 I would probably RAID5.
I simply RAID0 on mine for the added transfer speed.
It's not a necessity though.
I don't loose data, because I have other HDD's to back-up with.
Windows 7 installed in about 10 min.
So some of us are not concerned with that.

But why would you install the os on a raid 0 setup when it should not be? that is a recipe for disaster in itself. The os should never be installed on the array, especially a raid 0 for if 1 drive goes by by, then you will never recover, and have to do things all over again. I'm not asking a question, I'm pointing out a disaster in the making.

Same goes to a single hard drive, raid0 just double the risk.

Any HDD can go bad. It does not matter if it's a RAID0 or a IDE or a AHCI. If your OS is on it. You will still need to install your OS again. You can have multiple HDD's with or without a RAID0. My OS is on a RAID0 and I back up my files to a 3rd HD. How is loosing a hard drive with your OS on it a disaster if you backup your files?

not just his os, did you look at how much space he wanted to raid 0, 4Tb, now that much space is definately not just for os installation now is it?
