Default Changing CPU on EP45-UD3P - Clear CMOS?

I am switching CPUs on an EP45-UD3P motherboard. There was no overclock and I will be using same memory. Do I need to clear the CMOS? It's out of the case so it would be easy to do. I have never needed to do it before. Do I need to do it or will it pick up the new CPU and be fine? Thanks.

Clear CMOS only when things are really messed up. Loading Optimal Defaults should suffice.

Default Re: Changing CPU on EP45-UD3P - Clear CMOS?

I thought it would be okay but it's not even in a case....it should pick up the new CPU fine. If I had my old one overclocked before stripping it down I might be worried.

Thanks for the reply.
