I've been trying for three days to get my new mobo working, but I am having a peculiar problem, and cannot find an answer for it anywhere. I have a GA EP45-UD3P rev 1.6, and a Intel core 2 quad Q8200, when it boots, I get the single beep from post, but it fails to boot from HDD (sata or IDE), DVD, or floppy. Also, I cannot get into the BIOS, it doesn't receive any keyboard input, except allowing me to press tab to view post screen. The keyboard is functional, I'm currently using it. Have reset cmos, and tried minimal boot, with single stick of ram, and no HDD, DVD. Any ideas? Please help!1 (i haven't played WOW in a week!) |

If you are using a usb keyboard and mouse you probably need the following settings:
Integrated Peripherals USB Keyboard Support ---------- : [Enabled] <-- this is the default USB Mouse Support ------------- : [Enabled] Try booting with a different keyboard, possibly a PS/2 model. **edit** This post should help you get your system to boot. Once you're able to successfully get into your bios, follow the steps in this post and we can better help you with an issues you're having. Use the following generic bios template to post your current bios settings: Code:

try to reseat your memory sticks. Reset cosmos follow proJim's instructions... Also might take the battery out for about 30 minutes.

Ive had scary moments on entering bios screen// no keyboard input usually its just a stuck key.
Anyway thas beside the point.Did you try what pro Jim suggested? The Q8200 should take a fair amount of abuse (I know). What you could do since its never got to bios is take the mbrd out right now n run it outside the case(after u turn the pc off and unplug it ).Use a direct wired keyboard n mouse n try it as PJ says. Reason i say take it out of the case now n connect everything up is you will have a chance to redo all your connections and will eliminate any possible mbrd shorting at the same time+ give cmos time to reset. Make sure! the cpu heatsink is fully seated. Oh yer not missing much on WoW its slowing down for the new patch :) Ive had a direct wired ps2 keyboard and a usb wireless mouse on this for WoW since day one,I find the usb keyboard too fiddly and get lag on responses from it. Seems like you have an "old" machine around/if Pj's n C's responses dont help switch some of those parts in /out?

I don't think all the good folks here who volunteer their time to help people would ever trump Gigabyte support knowledge.
