Default GA-EP45-DS5 G-SATA Problem! Please Help!

I have some very strange behavior with the Gigabyte SATA-Controller.
The DVD-Burner is not recognized at all, in no port. The 2 Samsung F1 harddisks are only recognized when plugging into channel 0 and channel 1 at the same time. Smart Backup is disabled currently. When entering G-Bios, there's just one disc with 2 TB size (very odd). In IDE mode, no single disc is recognized.

After updating to F7 BIOS, the RAID Control Mode is not available any more. G-Bios is not available also. The two discs are recognized when plugged in in C0 and C1 (as one with Smart Backup enabled now), a single disc is still not recognized. With SB disabled, no disc is detected. Channel 2 and Channel3 seems to be totally dead. I've tried all different Bios settings for this...

The DVD-Burner is also not detected in any SATA channels.

For the Intel Southbridge, all SATA ports are working very fine. But I want to use the G-SATA since I want to build up a 6-disc RAID5 on the Intel controller.

My wish is to have a "safe" raid 0 (perhaps with or without smart backup function) PLUS the DVD-Burner, all three on G-SATA ports. Isn't that possible?

Any help? Any suggestion?

Thanks dude
is there any kind of technical white paper about smart backup? It seems to be so smart that I don't have any clue how to recognize disk failure or how to rebuild after a crash. Is this documented anywhere?
Greetings Al

ok I have some news
I've jumped back to F5 bios version. This brought back SATA Control Mode option with the possibility to enter G-Bios again. smart backup never enabled so far, I can now see two discs in channels 0 and 2, but 1 and 3 are dead.
DVD is still not recognized at all...
Smart Backup Toolbox is not available as described in manual. How do I call it?
Al

ok last findings for today...
it seems that I can use either RAID mode with channels 0 and 2 used (1 and 2 are dead) or I use smart backup with channels 0 and 1 (2 and 3 are dead). Have not tried 4 discs at once.
dvd not working at all...
bye for now
