Give it a try devoh. I'm going to when I've checked the forum. Been running F9L for a bit, solid as a rock.

On the subject of wierd boot up problems with OC settings, mine change with the PSU I use. The Zalman I was lucky enough to win caused a boot to the backup BIOS when turned off at the wall. My OCZ (both 400W and 500W SilentXStream) caused a simple double boot, and now this HX750 causes an infinate boot loop until power is discontinued again for 30 sec.

You know it's interesting you mention this. I've noticed that when I'm OCing that the only thing that scares me but never seems to do harm is if I unplug the PSU power cord/switch off the power switch on the PSU, when I go to turn the computer on it does indeed turn on and then turn off real quick and then turn on again with no bios errors or weird problems.

As long as the computer is shutdown/restarted with out complete loss of power it doesn't ever do that so I've always wondered if that meant my OC was somehow taxing my 750TX at start too much (combined with my other components) or simply the way it works period?

Lots of people have had the same thing happen. I think it's definately just the way it is with the board(s) involved. Definitely nothing to worry about.

I always thought it was my motherboard's "dual bios" feature that was doing it haha

For me, when I go too far on an overclock, it will reboot 2-3 times and reset all of my OC'd settings to default. But if I go WAAY TOO FAR, then I would have to clear the cmos on the board for it to post.

Sometimes, I also get a "Scanning BIOS from hard drive" message. weird lol.

But as long as the board still works in the end, it's all good.

As far as I heard, it's still the old 1.07 AHCI. I own a UD3R and there was no update in AHCI.

Get some info on F10 rolling in. If boot time is a few seconds faster and OCing stays the same, I'll switch to it. I hate when the BIOS hangs for 3-4 seconds between POST and starting to load windows.

Those 3-4 seconds are there for a good reason.. It's checking for bootable devices & drivers.

You're not gonna get rid of it by updating the BIOS..
