I have been reading some articles about running the memory frequency slower (which is obviously the work-around for DDR3 and the P45 chipset) and it seems there is an advantage to be had with tighter ram timings (at lower frequency) and higher FSB frequency.
Looks like Creamsoda has it dialed in perfectly. I got my CPU Stable @3.66GHZ @1.3V and was testing my RAM stable so far @1334 7 7 7 20 (FSB 420) and was getting 9107 MB/s read and about the same writing. I like Creamsoda's set up and will play around with some timings at lower frequencies. Excellent info Creamsoda - thanks so much for your input!

No problem.
But to be honest, I don't think the DS3R board is a good board to showcase RAM speed lol, mainly because of the board switching to a slower NB frequency latch at around 500fsb. But either way, your Corsair XMS3 is still faster than my RAM. I'm sure you'll get better bandwidth once you manage to get a better OC.

Yeah,
The DS3R is a decent board - I was never really looking for major overclocking - just some medium-level OC with stability. With high ambient summer temps I am reluctant to push the NB too far - but your ram timings were a major find - tight timings, lower frequency and lower voltage with equal or greater throughput than higher frequencies - what's not to like. Next year will be a i7 with some solid state drives. Mmmmmm solid state drives. Edit to add: I will try some memory testing the next day or so and post a stable set up for ProfJim et al.
