Default GA-MA770T-UD3P Phenom II x2 550BE questions

This is my first time attempting to build a computer or use a forum so please bear with me. Here are the specs to the system I've assembled.

Phenom II X2 550BE
GA-MA770t-UD3P
G.Skill DDR3-1333
WD6400AAKS 640GB SATA 3.0
Samsung SH-S223L SATA dvd
OCZ700MXSP 700W
Gigabyte GV-R487D5-1GD HD 4870

It powers up, POSTs, the optimized defaults are loaded, and I've got a freshly burnt copy of Win 7 RC ready to install. However, while exploring the BIOS I noticed that Advanced Clock Calibration is showing values for 4 cores. I'm aware that one reason this dual-core chip is popular is the possibiliy of unlocking extra cores, but I haven't flashed the BIOS or even enabled ACC. Does this mean the chip is operating 4 cores? This isn't really a problem, I'm just wondering. Also, how do I find which BIOS version I've got and what chip is recognized? Thank you for any advice or comments.
