GA-MA790FX-UD5P (DDR2 m/b)

Hi,

I am planning a motherboard change and i am looking for this specific motherboard ( GA-MA790FX-UD5P ), due to 790FX and the fact that i am overall satisfied with my previous Gigabyte one (GA-MA790X-DS4).

It seems that i cannot find it in the Greek market.

In other EU countries it seems to be out of stock , wherever i asked.

Does anyone no why ? Is this EOL or just hasn't come to the EU market ?

This is not the GA-MA790FXT-UD5P (DDR3), it's a DDR2 board.

I've read somewhere that certain types of Gigabyte boards have been pulled by dealers due to on going quality problems. If you can not get it just leave it alone and take what's on offer.

I've contacted a guy from Germany that seems to have this board from July, so i guess that it was in market a few months ago.

Do you have any link for this to see if the model i'm searching for is included in the list ?

I see the DS4 and UD5P you mention for sale here in the US, which are you looking for exactly and can you ebay?

I had the 790X-DS4, i am looking for the GA-MA790FX-UD5P. I think the shipping cost will be high if i buy from US, plus there is a Customs Tax for products that cost over 50€, is about the price of the product or something less....Which means that if i buy a mobo that costs 150€, the shipping cost may be 30€ and the tax will be about 70-100€ plus, so it is not worth it....

( Yes, i can ebay)

I can't understand why this mobo doesn't exist in EU shops...ok, DDR2 & AM2+ will be dead in 6-8 months, but there are many many people that still have h/w based on this platform.

I have a question:

The GA-MA790X-DS4 i RMA'd was dead and the distributor is now willing to replace it with a new one. I think they said that they're gonna import the board.

Do i have the right to ask for a better model and pay for the price difference ? Is there a case that the distributor can refuse to do it ?

yes, you can ask and the distributor can refuse - a warranty replacement is a same model replacement.

I asked the shop to ask the distributor and responded that they cannot give me another product...the motherboard that i will get from RMA will be given to them as service return from the distributor, thus could be a repaired board or new....


Anyway, i found the 790FX board i wanted in a e-shop in Germany....maybe i get it from there....
