Verifying DMI Pool Data..................... Boot from CD/DVD: [nothing] cannot type anything, enter does nothing. waited as long as one hour once. The only thing I can think of is a bad DVD. Possible, but that seems unlikely. ________________________________________________ GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard AMD Phenom II X4 920 2.8GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Processor CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power OCZ 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory GIGABYTE GV-R487D5-1GD Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive PLEXTOR 20X DVD Super Multi Qflix Drive Black SATA Model PX-806SA SW NZXT Apollo Black SECC Steel Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case Last edited by juice8j; 06-23-2009 at 04:32 AM. |

I have tried pressing keys, but nothing happens. I've tried Enter, y, n, and mashing keys. nothing. I know the keyboard works because I can use it in the BIOS setup. I am trying to boot from DVD as there is no OS currently installed.

Hi juice8j
Did you go into bios and enable the sata contoller? It should be set on-chip sata as Native IDE Just like the picture in your motherboard manual shows. (Integrated Peripherals page48) Your hard drive may or may not need to be partitioned first. If you were trying to use AHCI you may need to unplug the computer. Wait 20 seconds. Clear cmos with any piece of metal by jumping across the clear cmos pins. I used a screw driver when I cleared cmos. Be sure the jumper is taken back off. Plug the AC chord back into the power supply. When you boot go into bios setup and set it to native ide. Restart and go back into bios and check that the bios sees the hard drive. If you have any questions let us know. We will try to get back to you as soon as we can. Oh yeah! if you have Vista before the sp1 You may want to install it with 2GB of memory then put the other 2 GB in after sp1 updates installed. http://china.giga-byte.com/FileList/...90x-ud4p_e.pdf
