Default GA-P55-UD3R 2x2 Gb

Hi

So, recently, I bought 2x2Gb DDR3 RAM (1333 MHz) from Corsair, and inserted them on my GA-P55-UD3R motherboard. I placed them in dual-channel mode in the white slots (1-3) and everything loaded fine. But when I check in the M.I.T. in the bios, it shows me 2Gb memory in slot 1 and 2 Gb in slot 3, but on the total of both it only shows that 2Gb is working. All slots work fine, same for the RAM as I changed the places many times, but still only 2Gb are being used.

Same when I log into Windows 7: Shows 4 Gb but only 2Gb usabled (even tho there is no memory limitation).

Anyone already had this problem before or know how to solve it please?

Thank you!

Where is it showing only 2gb usable? Same mb, 2x2 on the ram, under system in Windows 7 it shows 4gb. Using the latest bios also.

Thank you for your response.

Well, it shows only 2 Gb usable, but 4 in total when I look in computer propwerties, thus giving me a crappy score of 5.5. Also, I looked for the RAM limitation in the msi config, and there is no.

Anyway, I doubt the problem is the OS as the BIOS detects it wrong before loading it. It shows me 2 Gb on each slot, but on the total theres a (-) under slot 3 and 2 Gb under slot 1... I also downloaded the latest BIOS, changed nothing...

You ever figure this out? I'm having the exact same problem with the motherboard, except I've got 4 2gb (G.Skill F3-10666) sticks in there and it's only seeing 4 total.

Did you adjust the memory voltage?

Thank you for your answer.

No, I didn't change any settings for the memory voltage. Do I need to? I will try to take a picture of the bios ASAP to show you the default settings actually on.

I really need these 2Gb more because my system is only using 1.14 Gb because of the graphic card actually.

Thank you for your help.

You might... Try and set the memory voltage to whatever the Memory manufacturer sets as the max voltage.....as long as you don't go past 1.65/1.66v Cpu safety limit.

I'm stable on the same board with 4x2gb 1600@1.66v
Cpu i7 860 Turboboost off, 19x201 for 3.81ghz, Cores hit 78C linx 50 runs

Yeah, I tried adjusting the memory voltage up to 1.6v (memory I have says it needs 1.5 - 1.6 v) and still showing up with half the memory usable.

What's weird in my case, Windows 7 is reporting 8 GB of system memory but on 4 GB of usable memory.

Did you try slots 2&4? Probably need to RMA the mainboard...maybe a bad trace somewhere. Even if it worked in slots 2&4 I'd RMA it...somethings wrong... Try to manually set the timings on the ram?
