Default GA-p55m-ud2 will not run memory at proper timings

Hello,

This my first time posting here at ttown :D

I cannot get my memory to run at xmp timings, my usb ports stop working . I've tried Mushkin redline (1600@7-7-7-18) and now I'm using Gskill trident (2000@9-9-9-27).

Whenever I load the xmp timings and reboot, my usb ports no longer work. As long as the memory is running loose @1333 the usb ports work.

I thought the redline was faulty but I find it hard to believe that both the Mushkin and Gskill can't run above 1333 without knocking out my usb ports.

Considering that it makes no difference if I manually set timings or enable xmp (both ways knockout usb if memory above 1333), I think my board is bad.

The rest of my specs are as follows:
Windows 7 64
I5 750 / Noctua NH-U9B
Xfx 5850
Corsair 620HX
WD 640 black

*Edit: figured i'd mention I'm running everything at stock. And I just recently updated the BIOS to f4k and I'm still having same prob.

Disabled xmp profile, upped Blk to 200, timings to 9-9-9-27 and lowered CPU clk ratio to 14, changed Dram voltage to 1.6.

Ran Windows experience index which scored mem a 7.9, but once again my usb ports would not work and Windows would not shutdown (it would just hang).

QPI is set to auto (not sure where current vtt would be) but freq is currently @6400(32x), vcore also on auto is @1.36v

btw, thx for the sugg

re-installing chipset drivers or updating them might fix usb ports,1.3000 qpi should be plenty auto will overvolt it same for cpu,try on normal or 1.25000

Gave your suggestions a go (set vcore to 1.25 and vtt to 1.31) and no luck. Even reinstalled the chipset drivers, but whenever I upped the Blk or enabled xmp I'd loose all usb ports and the sys hangs.

thx a ton for the help and suggestions though.

when you up bclk does it still hang? even with xmp disabled? and are you setting your ram multi to get your rated ram speed?? only thing you can do is to try and remove cmos battery overnight and then try setting bios again maybe its corrupted something in the bios, you shouldnt be losing the usb ports

what is your bios version? maybe you can try to update to latest beta bios to check.
Where your USB cannot work? front usb or rear usb ports? all of them cannot work or some?
