Angry Getting strange Beep Codes for GA-MA790GPT-UD3H mobo

Just put together new rig and am getting strange beep codes from mobo whenever I reboot the pc. I was able to install windows 7 64bit with no problem and everything runs fine until I reboot. Then I always get series of 3 long beeps followed by 4 long beeps from mobo and it wont boot into OS.
If I reset power at the power supply and turn pc on again it will boot normally with no beeps and OS works fine. There is no information/explanation about this series of beeps in the manual nor on Gigabytes website. I checked everything in the bios (upgraded to ver F3) and nothing appears to be set incorrectly.
System is:
GIGABYTE|GA-MA790GPT-UD3H
CPU AMD|PHENOM II X4 965 AM3 3.4G
VGA SAPPHIRE| RADEON 4870 2GB
PSU CORSAIR|CMPSU-750TX 750W
HD 1T|SS 7K 32M SATA2 HE103UJ
MEM 2Gx2|CORSAIR TW3X4G1600C9DHX
CASE GIGABYTE|GZ-X7BMDX-400

Does anybody have information about this series of Gigabyte beep codes and what they mean?

i cant say for your board, but in my motherboard manual it says long beeps mean graphics card not inserted correctly, its worth re-installing it

DUDE I just got this motherboard, and i'm getting a similar problem. I don't even have a video card in the stupid thing and I'm getting a string of 4 long beeps, then pause, then 4 long beeps, then pause ... over and over until eventually I make it through the POST. As far as I can tell there is no pattern to how many strings of four beeps I get before it boots up. All I've got in the system is RAM and an optical drive. Driving me nuts. I'm going to try and get a POST code reader to see what the heck is going on. PLEASE post if you figure it out and I'll do the same.

Just an update, I thought it was the RAM at first, but the RAM has made it through 12 hours of memtest with no errors. I have installed win7 x64 and the system is awesome, except for the fact it takes like 5 minutes to boot because it wants to beep at me for a while first. Once it boots it's as stable and fast as I'd hoped.

Post Re: Getting strange Beep Codes for GA-MA790GPT-UD3H mobo

Guys, I am getting the same problem. but some more, after the beeps my computer boots fine and Windows XP (SP3) will start fine.
Now if I set the Bios for RAID 1 (I have 2 - 500GB SATA Western Digital) my computer will start the boot process up to the first screen with WIndows XP logo than the system will reboot and continue in this cycle.
I have tried everything on the book, by the way Manual was probably written by a retarded. Try to find out what is a AHCI no where they explain it. Also no explanation on RAID 1 Gigabyte Bondary.

I have flashed the motherboard to F3 and still exactly the same issue.

I have put a technical help request with Gigabyte and 2 days have passed and so far no answers.

Any ideas anyone? has any one seen this problem before?

Thanks

Just to let you know, I'm still having this problem. I've still managed to overclock my 550BE to 3.6GHz, no luck with unlocking cores though. When I stepped the voltage up a teeny weeny bit on the ram and CPU I had like 4 clean start-ups in a row - but then the beeping came back . Oh and I did a better job of counting beeps - I'm getting 3 long beeps and then 4 long beeps, then 4 long beeps... but as long as I wait long enough eventually it'll start. PLEASE if you figure anything out let me know. Thanks!

do you have a floppy drive?? sometimes it takes a longtime to boot due to it checking for a floppy drive, try changing first boot device to hard drive and dont set any other boot device as floppy

No luck, I have worked the entire weekend and up today trying to see why my RAID configuration will not work in this board. I have flashed the Bios to F3 - Well the flash worked fine using a USB thumbdrive, that is the other thing the manuals are so bad that you get the impression that you need to buy a floppy drive to flash the bios. Terrible.
3 days have passed and I have not received any returns on my emails from Gigabyte, I am going to wait another day or so, if they don't answer I am going to return this board and by a ASUS.

Anyone had any luck with answer from Gigabyte tech support?

Also has anyone tried to configure the systems using RAID?
Everything else works fine in my system, just the raid will not let Windows XP to boot, goes to a continues loop of rebooting.

My System:

MoBO GA-MA790GPT-UD3H
AMD AMX3 X4 965
4 GB Ram Gskills (1666)
4 HDD sata (1-320GB WD Caviar for Win XP, 1-160GB WD Caviar , 2- 500GB WD Caviar for data trying to use raid)
ATI HD5770
850 W Power Supply
WinXP SP3

That beep error could be related to the CPU. Please check to be sure you have AMD Phenom2 based memory. Please find out exactly which cpu you have and post it because now they have them in C3 stepping as well as C2 stepping.
