Default GIGABYTE EX58-UD4P help!

So... I have a GIGABYTE EX58-UD4P....

It seems to post... but then when I try to install windows... it shows the loading screen and seems to take forever but then the computer shuts off... any ideas of what could be wrong?

Specs...

Core i7 920
EX58-UD4P
6 gigs of OCZ gold - is it the ram by any chance?
WD Caviar 640 gigs
Samsung 22x OEM
OCZ StealthXStream 600 watt

Just so you know, I too have seen windows Vista and 7 seem to freeze at the initial install point, but after waiting maybe 5 minutes the install process started back up. Not sure of the causes of this, but I have seen it a few times on 100% Stable machines. I have not however seen it happen then shut off as you describe.

If you don't have any luck with 4GB, let me know and I can help you try to get your settings a bit more stable

The long pause at the initial install point in Vista and Win 7 is usually caused by legacy floppy drive installed in bios. Go to bios and disable floppy and the install should proceed normally. This does not, however, explain the system shutting down.

No luck... Any other suggestions?

Also, when the board turns on, it sometimes won't post/boot, or stay on long enough to (this usually happens when doing a warm boot, which is the exact opposite of what other peoples problems are. At this point I am frustrated to say the least and will probably just return it for an ASUS if I can't get it to work within a few days)

Check your cooler mount. You may be having heat problems.
It could also be the power supply.

I second that - the first time I mounted my cooler I thought it was properly mounted but it wasn't. Check the temperatures in your BIOS to confirm the CPU isn't running more than 40-45C.

If that's okay, I suspect the ram. What is your RAM part number? (see the example in my sig, I also have OCZ ram)

Also what BIOS version are you running?

The ram is OCZ3G1600LV6GK... I'm 99% positive it isn't the psu because I just took it out my old rig... who knows, it could be the board itself... also, do you recommend updating the bios?

Also, do I need to tweak any settings? I know the stock settings have the ram set at 1.5 volts instead of 1.65, is this a potential culprit?
?

I just bought some OCZ3P1600LV6GK sticks and I read in OCZ forum that sometimes you need to set memory voltage to 1.65V (1.66) and QPI voltage to 1.35V.
