Default Gigabyte GA-EP45T-EXTREME

Been playing with my new board this last week
Gigabyte GA-EP45T-EXTREME
After using the DDR2 version the real surprise is the omission of the Dual CPU GTLref.

Yes I know it's in the GigaByte GA-EP45T-DS3R , al be it single channel, but not in this , someone said that it's caused instability & gigabyte are looking at it , but as it works fine on the ddr2 board it seems odd. Even tried the [CTRL] & [F1} just in case

It's no big deal but I must say I was expecting more or less identical board & bios except obviously the ram. :)

It is in the other DSx models of DDR2 P45's as well. It is just named CPU reference 1,2.

Is that not in your board you have now?

No :)
If you look at the
1) Ddr2 Extreme CPU Reference 1&2 As you say

2) DDR3 - EP45T Extreme

GigaByte GA-EP45T-DS3R at least has a single channel GTLref :-
The voltage pic is the 4th one from top.(see CPU Reference Voltage)

Hmm, very strange! Maybe they made a mistake in that BIOS? I dunno, but ya I feel it should be there for sure!

Only reason that seems to make sense was here

When they put CPU Reference in the bios the board gets unstable.
They are working on it.
jooney
Even that seems odd when the DDR2 plays really well :) , Mind you there are a surprising number of differences in the capacitors and circuitry which may explain it.

YA, I could see that. Sounds like they just need to get the programming down for the BIOS then. Maybe it will be put back in future BIOS's, I would imagine it will.

Nice to see that they are working on it. I am sure they plan to get the rest (Driving Strangth) he mentioned in there as well sometime

I am about to shoot off a email this afternoon to the Gigabyte Team to see if anyone is really working on P45 S3 sleep issues. Maybe they will get on that next, the users are piling up that it affects. And not just here either
