Default GIGABYTE GA-MA790GPT-UD3H slow to boot

I just installed the following:
GIGABYTE GA-MA790GPT-UD3H (New)
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz(New)
OCZ Obsidian 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) (New)
Radeon X1600Pro (from prior system)
Hard Drive from prior system.

It takes about 10 minutes to boot. One time after I updated drives it booted properly, but not it is back to about 10 minutes. Any ideas?

try re-setting cmos either by rear botton or jumping the motherboard cmos pins next to the battery, then load optimized defaults save and re-boot

Also make sure that you have set any Floppy Disk options in the BIOS to disabled if you have no foppy drive. This also includes removing "Floppy" from the boot order.

Are you using AHCI? If so then you may benefit from flashing to the latest BIOS for your board. It may contain an AMD AHCI ROM update.

Did you do a completely fresh Windows installation after building the PC? Sometimes you can get away with not doing so, but other times it can lead to major problems if you don't. That's why I always recommend starting from fresh.

I tried this with no luck, thanks for the suggestion.

I decided to strip the board and boot with only the necessities. I did this and booted with the on-board video and she booted right away, no wait. I then installed the Radeon X1600Pro and found that to be my problem even with the on-board video disabled in the BIOS. So now I ordered a HIS H489FP1G Radeon HD 4890 Turbo+. I also found the problem of a USB port in the device manager by doing this, Webcam needed to be deleted and re-installed.

The only thing I question now is while boots, after the post screen, it goes into a "ghost" Windows (logo) screen for about a minute and then the bright Windows (logo) screen comes up, I don't recall ever seeing this happen before, any suggestions?

Thanks everyone for your help.

No I did not do a fresh Windows install, but I entend on doing that with my new Western Digital 500GB hard drive I got. Long story, but I am going to do this soon. Thanks for your help. That will probably solve the Windows logo "ghost" issue I am seeing on boot after the post screen. Too many things I needed to get done, a lot of legal docs I needed to get to right away, and not enough time.

Yep did that, didn't work and I do have a 3.5 floppy so didn't disable but took it out of the boot process.

its ok to leave the floppy in if you have one,its if yu dont have one and leave it in the boot list that it causes problems, and have you installed the gpu drivers? it will ghost until you install them as it sets gpu to basic settings
