Default IEEE-1394 and EP35-DS3R

Sorry if this has been asked and answered already, I did a search and came up empty.

I'm new here, building a new machine, Case has an IEEE-1394a external plug and the internal 2x5 female header connector. Mobo instructions clearly state NOT to plug an IEEE-1394a female connector to the USB header. So what options do I have? I have an IEEE-1394a PCI-X card coming, and that will provide access to Firewire, but I just hate having a plug on the front that doesn't work. Also, I noticed that the PCI-X card has a classic female IEEE 1394 6 pin connector on it rather than a male 2x5 male header post.

Any advise?

I think one of these cables might work.

Firewire IEEE1394a Motherboard Header Device to 6-Pin Firewire Port Adapter/Cable - M/M (Discontinued)

I don't know where you can buy one.
