Default Re: mem issues with p45 ud3r

they are what they are?

i wrote the top template from mem as im not at home here as im not online there atm as i am about to move and didnt renew my contract as i want to go fibre optic when i move not copper. the only setting i got wrong was the divider as that is on a 3.00b at stock, if it was on 2.00b it would result in a ddr of 667 not the ddr1000 as the first everest screen shows.

pl/trd whichever you prefare, it is set as the template for 3.8ghz shows and i know that is 100% accurate. why memset is blank i dont know but that is why i prefare everest as it shows every setting and more than memset.

@proffjim

i followed the post you linked to for my stock settings, and as a starting point when i had a play but i needed to alter some volts to get it 100% stable at 3.8ghz as i had some issues getting it to pass blend. i can assure you that the settings in the last tempplate are 100% my own and those in the 1st are spot on other than the divider, which i spoke about in an earlier post.

i have gotten it to boot at 4ghz but i gave up on trying to get that 100% stable in favour of sorting this ram issue out. all i did for that was up the vcore from the 3.8 template to 1.325v.

There is no 3.00b multiplier, you are more than welcom to prove me wrong.
I didn't say you have used 2.00b at stock but for your current settings.
I don't even know what do you make from the everest screen captures.
If the settings are 100% accurate and 100% percent stable, than there is no problem and you are good to go.

Default Re: mem issues with p45 ud3r

stability is not the issue tho otherwise i might of called my thread somthing along those lines, maybe n00b wants hand held for oc? what is the issue is the mem benchmark being on par with some pc66 sticks from about ten years ago.

everest is easy to read, it tells you what the settings is, beit cas or trd (known as pl) and almost every other option you can adjust in your bios and next to it it says what that option is set to, much like memset but without the option to adjust them.

i will recheck my stock settings for the div as i may be wrong and it might be 3.0d and i have had a dislexic moment whilst scribbling them down this morning but i will let you know either way :)

i am also going to flash the bios again just to be on the safe side but i am pretty sure i did optimised not failsafe.

i cant find any sollutions for the et6 issue tho, the version on the disk would put an icon in the task bar but it would also freeze before loading and an error window would pop up not the app, it would give me the option to go online or close the prog. then the icon would go.

this newwer version wont even install so it wont get that far, i have found a couple of other people with the same error code but they dont say if or how they fixxed it :(

tRD has major effect on performance, if MemSet shows blank there is something wrong, that's why I asked for multi reboots, they are sometimes silent so watch the power led, you may need to resave settings, IDK if they happen after the system once found something it can boot with.
In your first template Static tRead was auto, the value displayed in BIOS as "default" means absolutely nothing, rarely it will match applied settings.
DDR-900 with 450FSB should have brought memory around 8GB/s and latency < 60ns, if all else fail try slots 2 & 4.

:( i am already on slots 2 and 4 :( bot red and yellow give the same results.

i am going to pilfer the 800 cas 4 dominators out of my sisters box later to see if its a compatabilty issue with these ocz sticks or if its down to the mobo.

thanks for all the input sofar chike :thumb:

shame i cant give you rep or tip the scales for you.

you was right guys it wasnt 3.00b it was 3.00abut thats what i was on about in my first post, the board has soooo many options that it loses me from time to time.

i aslo figured out why you was so adement about failsafe, i knew it wasnt me but when i went to flash it again last night, this is the bit that will have you swearing at me, i noticed a tickbox on @bios. now i know your thinking what you using that for you n00b well yea i know im just a lazy git. anyway @bios was seting the failsafe before i even had chance to set optimised.

so my stock settings are

i tried the corsiar stuff and it wouldnt even post, thats after i had set the bios up witrh the correct timings and volts for those sticks, so im not sure what to make of that.

i went back to f11 as i read that the divider issues are related to the yellow slots and i had them in the red, i can say that the issues i had with the dividers have gone now with my ram in the red slots and its much more stable then it was before. on the downside my mb/s is still pants :(

i have spent this afternoon putting my p35 mobo back in to see what it gets with the settings like for like and this is what i got

compared to this on the p45

not quite 3 times, but.

i still dont get whats wrong tho.

Why setting vcore & vtt below stock?
DRAM Voltage low too, those rated 2.1v wonder they work at all as DDR-1000 at this voltage.
Have you tried with just optimized defaults Performance Enhance Turbo/Standard?

I've used @BIOS too, I don't know why it has such a bad rep maybe a legacy thing too.

lower volts equals lowwer temps, i always find out how little juice i need to run the chip at stock before i increase it when i start clocking.

i have an e4300 that runs stock fine on 0.92v but it needs 1.55v to run 3.6ghz and this 9550 only needs 1.07v full load to stay stable @2.8ghz and 1.15v fl for 3.6ghz.

the ram is rated at 1.9v according to ocz and can handle upto 2.1v (evp i think its called) but they dont respond that well to voltage, even on upto 2.3v they still fail above ddr1080 and will only do that at cas 6.

so i am guessing we are out of ideas?

is anybody on here really from gigabyte or does it just say that to increase hits?

@Bios has a nasty habit of bricking mobos during the bios flash.
Past, present, and probably well into the future.
This isn't just a GB problem, similar programs from other mobo makers often do the same thing.
It's an inconvenience for your mobo to be bricked while under warranty, it's a different story if you're warranty has expired.

Could be that lower voltage means also poor performance? IDK
My idea was try all at stock/rated settings than play with voltages, and instead forcing the A multiplier on 333FSB use 2.40B for DDR-800.
