WYSINAWYG

What you see in BIOS is not always the actual settings applied, I have posted about it once, and ever since don't care for autos.

Well I installed the ULNA from my Noctua Cooler pack to the Rear Case fan on the Lian Li and its now a near silent PC. Hasnt seemed to affect The temps of the CPU.

One thing thats kinda annoying is that it seem as I kinda mentioned earlier on that my temp sensors on the Q9550 are kinda sticking at a low temp untill you heat up the CPU above it. 39 36 42 40 Its only when Ive ran Prime 95 for a few minutes that they start to move. Is there anything I can do to fix it????

Nope, it's a known issue, have you ever read Psycho's signature?
You probably need to go by the higher unntil you calibrate them.
Your stock tempts BTW are my idle temps at same FSB LOL.

Thanks for the link Chike. I ws aware there was a JEDEC standard of 7-7-7-24 for PC-8500, but didn't know there were spacific design specifications too. Seems most manufacturers don't use them though, and prefer high binned PC-6400 and in some cases, super high binned PC-5300, which has been known to go up to DDR-1200 on some exceptional quality IC's (Micron D9).

NimrodAUS, have you tried using voltage values from your sable speed, then altering FSB and uping Vcore 1-2 notches, then playing with both GTLref's? I'm not too familiar with what GTLref 1 and GTLref 2 do and if one is CPU, the other MCH. They could both be CPU ref. Try changing one at a time. Keep one fixed and try 3 up and 3 down of the othere, then change the one you didn't move up/down one and try different values on the first etc until you try a good few combinations.

Yes Ive seen Psycho's Signature. Stuck sensors all round.

As for my settings Ive posted them here New Build GA-EP45-DS3 + Q9550
But Basically just change 400FSB to 333 and the memory multi to give ya 1066 and thats what im running.

I thought you were stable at stock speed, or was it with DDR2-800, what's changed?

Personally I don't trust any of the memory timings to be on auto, I set them all manually.

You have over 2GB memory so MCH needs to be up +0.1V isn't it?

I am trying 400FSB too now (3.2GHz/DDR-800,) and the thing that changed from mo post to booting into windows was increasing tRFC from 42 to 52, maybe you'd like to try it. (I have also increased Static tRead from 6 to 8 but that alone didn't help)

Thanks Psycho. I somehow missed your post last night. BUt I will play with those references today. You haveto press the Ctrl + F1 to get them up in the MIT but thats about all that changes in there. I have know idea what they do. I might google it or find a post here about it to gain a better Idea of exactly what they are suppost to do.

Yeah I am stable at stock speeds of 333X8.5= 2.83Ghz with DDR2 2x2gb 1066Mhz 5-5-5-15 @2.1v I have tried increasing the MCH voltage +0.2v with no effect. I currenty run prime for the 8Hours without any added volts on the MCH. With the E8500 + 2x2 gb 800Mhz DDR2 I didnt add any either for prime stable 24X7.

But yes I have tried it. I may play with the advanced timmings or something as im running out of things to try. Any other suggestions?
