Timings dont matter much, a few percent at most. In fact I would just set the ram to DDR2 800 5-5-5-18 and if it's stable leave it there.
Take a look at this post: P35C-DS3R Memory There I explained why faster RAM is unnecessary. Anything other than the 2.0 multiplier does not really bring added performance. |

see GA-EP31-DS3L overclocking without any problem

That last setting at 3.2GHz and 569 MHz is stable while the setting in the fist screenshot is not?
It can still be the RAM, as Auto settings cann apply weird timings sometimes that causes it to be unstable. But they apply correct timtings a lower CPU speed when the RAM is clocked higher (sometimes). Please post pictures of your BIOS screen including all of the settings I told you to change! This may also be caused by your power supply, what modell is it exactly? When you overclock the CPU needs a stabler voltage supply than at stock speeds or lower overclocks. So while your PSU might be OK for a "low" overclock, it may not be good enough for a higher one. Last edited by Nickel020; 02-13-2009 at 05:39 PM. |
