Hey, I'm new here and I'm in dire need of some help!
I have a dual core 2.8ghz processor (not sure about anything else on it, I got it from a pre built comp), 2 gigs of corsair PC2- 5400 675 mhz ram and a 500 watt PSU. I have everything plugged in and I get the whole continuous reboot jazz... I played with the ram, one stick rather than two, tried using different slots all combinations and no luck. I then unplugged the 12v CPU cable and it stopped rebooting, but it also didnt post. I'm not hot on computers at all, I just managed to build one but the mobo died (dodgy line of Asus P5K boards) so I swapped to this one and accidently opened a new can of worms... Does anyone have a clue what it could be? The computer doesnt even post, never, not once. I've left it cycling through the reboot process for 5 minutes straight. It fires up, 3 seconds later it reboots. Its doing my head in! |

Hi Lsdmeasap, I would greatly need your help. Just bought my new PC and found out that it's not stable when running DDR2 2GB dual channel. The symptom is my PC will freeze/hang anytime. I've tried with games like CoD:WaW, NFS:Undercover; it'll sure hard freeze when in-game in few minutes.
Solutions tried: - update the BIOS to F9a - tweak DRAM voltage[1.9V], MCH core[1.2-1.3V] (even more unstable, system rebooting) - sometimes freeze in BIOS when running dual channel - all hardware settings reset to defaults (doesn't resolve) - install different OS (Vista x86 & x64) (not the root cause) - run memtest (sometimes freeze also) - remain only 2GB DDR2 in a slot (works fine in windows, but still freeze in game) My PC specs: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz/1333/6MB GA-EP43-DS3L Kingston DDR2-800 2GB (valueRAM) (2GBx2) Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD8450 Silverstone PSU 500W Seagate SATA 500GB Vista Ultimate x86 & x64 (tried both OS with the same problem) BIOS Settings: (these are the settings from "Load Optimized Defaults") Code:

cpu: e8500
gpu: ati4850 ram: g.skill f2-8000cl5d-4gbpq [2GBx2] ddr2-1000, pc2-8000 worked in dual channel for about 2 weeks. both ram sticks are tested with memtest, and work fine, tested them seperatly. today i got a cpu freeze and after rebooting, the mainboard keeps beeping (award beep for no memory found/ wrongly seated memory) when i start with one stick, it boots just fine, when i boot with both sticks (slot 1/3, 2/4, 1/4, 1/2) the mobo just beebs and goes into a reboot cycle. these are optimal default settings, should be newest bios, did the auto updater.
