Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R, Q6600, 4GB Ram, etc. Windows 7 64bit. the system runs great and "normal". I added a WD external HD for backups. Using firewire or USB I can't get xfer rates higher than 25 MB/s - it sould be at least 200 if not 400 with Firewire. Since the drive plugs into the MB it must be the MB that's bottlenecked somehow? Any thoughts? Drivers and such are all updated as much as I know. |

Your USB transfer speeds sound about right.
Keep in mind that 25MB x 8 = 200 mega-bits per second.

Loading OPTIMIZED bios defaults is REQUIRED before you tweak your bios settings.
This includes new system setups and immediately after flashing your bios!!! |
