Default Synthetic vs Real World Benchmark

I am wanting to compare synthetic vs real world benchmark tests. These test will be between my stock settings (2.83 GHZ) oand my various overclocked points. What programs does one use to do so and what is the SOP?

Is real world benchmark just subjective testing?

Thanks for your help!

Default Re: Synthetic vs Real World Benchmark

real world would be like folding home or hyper Pi, while scripted benchmarking is "synthetic" like future mark

Precisely, everyone live in their own real world. If you are a gamer than video games are your real world, if you editing videos, video editing/encoding software is your real world etc.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll try some synthetic benchmark programs and try a few games I have for real world. Synthetic I can see how to can tell be have a hard time grasping how to measure real world testing.
