Default Useing MemSet

I have ga-x48-ds4 it has limited memory settings that i can use is it ok to use MemSet to be able to see more advance setting or is this going to cause more problems than it is worth. If it is ok to use could some 1 give suggestions on what setting matter in changing the proformance of ram.I have been reading a lot on other forums and the ram i have is able to get as high as 1150 or so with other boards.

Hey, just read your post at Mushkin forums. I use it often to SEE settings, and sometimes change them For a benchmark or something like that. DO NOT however use the "Save" button to apply settings at startup, that will cause you many issues.

You can change things with Memset for testing purposes, but all settings you would like to actually use and have set you must set in the BIOS. And yes, some will not be in your BIOS, so you will not be able to change and keep those settings.

Also, please see here for Memset Vs. BIOS info >>>
Memory Timings Explained W/ Suggested Timings & Memset VS. BIOS

If you need help with your ram settings in your BIOS, let me know I would be more then willing to help you.

OK so the use on MEMSET is not a good idea not a suprise so hear. This is where im at cpu@3.55 memory at 1066 im ok with 3.55 and 1066 i would like to close up timmings .Here is what i have set and like i said in another post i can run on Extreme i know this is not good but if i can do this with a proformance boost what do i change to get same speed. Here are my settings.Im not sure what Performance Enhance =EXTREME changes but i get much better scores with this setting.

It is good, just for benchmarking or testing if a setting change will work at all. So dont think you cannot use it, just you should not for saving or applying at boot. And yes, some settings will freeze or BSOD your PC if you try to much

Performance enhance extreme changes Static tRead, so if you manually lower it you will get similar results. I imagine when you set it to extreme it is using 5 or 6 Static tRead is why you see better results

I would think for 1066 you can use these changes possibly >>>
Performance Enhance =standard

CAS Latency Time________________ 5
Dram RAS# to CAS# Delay_________ 5 << Maybe 4
Dram RAS# Precharge Delay_______5(4)
Precharge Delay (tRAS)__________ 15(13) << Maybe 12

ACT to ACT Delay (tRRD)_________ 3 << Maybe 2/3
Rank Write to READ Delay________ 4 << Maybe 2/3
Write to Precharge Delay_________ 4 << Maybe 3
Refresh to ACT Delay______________ 48
Read to Precharge Delay__________ 3
Static tRead Value_______________7 << 6 may work
Static tRead Phase Adjust________ AUTO

All of those are in your BIOS, except the two following settings >>>

All precharge to activate, All precharge to refresh delay.

Performance level is tRD (Static tRead Value). The rest of the settings of Memset V.s BIOS settings are shown in the Memory Sticky >>>
