My new Win7 Pro install fails to recover from sleep after any sort of lengthy sleep duration. It appears that the hard drive never recovers as the HD LED never lights. I get a blue screen crash and the system restarts.
WinXP also has issues restoring from sleep on the same box.

I have Windows7 and have overclocked my rig to 3.8ghz and never had issues with sleep. Only issue I have is randomly wakes up when Im not even in my office. So trying to figure out what is waking it up, no one is passing any magic packets on my network (as this is my home office).

Some get lucky and can resume from sleep states. There seems no way to reliably replicate people's success on another persons hardware though.
I too have sleep resume issues when over clocked. Some report that playing with CPU Ref helps on P45 systems. Adjust 1-2 ticks up and down of default and try sleep to see if it resumes. Remember, usual rules for adjusting ref voltages apply. Reduce CPU Termination to 1.2V, set the ref voltage to be tuned to the default of 0.760 then use Page Up/Down to adjust. When adjusted, return CPU Termination to it's original value.

Well I have to say I will have to reneg what I said, I recently went to a retail copy of Windows7 from RC1 (which is what I had when I made that statement earlier about sleep working).
Now it dont work. Just hit sleep, desktop goes black for 1sec and comes right back. So no sleep now. Great....... Using all the latest drivers from this forum too. Dixit

Try this, try this: PassMark Sleeper - Hibernate and sleep state testing software It's a big time time saver for diagnosing sleep issues. GL Note: The test expects you to start the test and not to touch ur mouse or keyboard. But after u see the PC is asleep, touch mouse or KB to wake ur PC up. Because if u don't touch KB or mouse to wake it up, the test will eventually wake up ur PC, but give u a bad report because it took so long. (Took me a couple days to realize that one. ) The test tells how long it took/takes to achieve each sleep mode u select, and several statistics about each one. Like if it was or wasn't successful and it keeps a running log. So you can isolate problems and their probable causes more easily.

Well I thought Id reply here and let the folks know I fixed my sleep issue.
I saw some thread on here about Bios issues. So I decided to hit the clear bios button on my board and load optimized defaults and then just tweak it by setting up AHCI and a few other settings that I need. Then booted into Win7 and tried to go to sleep, WALA, it went to sleep, no issues. Dixit
