Default Runcore IV standby/hibernate problem (not with Runcore 3)

i have standby/hibernate problems with the runcore RCP-IV-S7032-C in an eee pc 901
the standby function in winxp does not work all the time and hibernation also sometimes failed!
speeds are ok, but standby not work! i updated to the latest windows and bios drivers, the problems occur now less but still is there!
before i had runcore version 3, RCP-I-S7016-C and i had no standby problems with this one!
many other people report standby issues.
i need advise as the standby function is important.

what i tried:

- paid driver update util (did not helped, but improved/reduced this problem)
- os reinstall (did not helped)
- bios reset (did not helped)
- bios upgrade (did not helped)

what i have:

standby fails 1 on 5 times (black screen, with a _ blinking (same like no hard disk found)

i am willing to do anything to get this fixed!

with the previous version runcore i never had this problem
with the IV i have it

the IV runs in udma 5 mode, also something i don't understand! as it supports udma 6 (sata instead of ide)

i tried anything to enable udma 6 buth no luck

on the other hand the system is stable for the rest and the speeds are visable, only the most important standby function does not work!

i am sure its not a xp driver problem but a runcore/hardware in combination with bios/hardware problem!

i also want to report that the runcore ssd is 1 on 5 times not recognised by the eee 901 bios

i have to reboot many times or remove the battery and reinsert it a few times to get it working again :-(

Hi,

We suggest you could try the belowing methods:

1> Make sure the Windows driver had installed in full.

2> Maybe you could try again by Windows XP SP3 or Windows Vista

3> SATA SSD works in EPC901 is with SATA 1.0 instead of UDMA

If all the methods you've already tried and doesn't work no longer then we could try by applying with updated firmware.

you can reinstall an OS and try again. The OS cannot wakeup is a very complex thing, maybe have relation with mainboard/compatiblility/system/driver/....

good luck

Also do you have a RMA upgrade in there? Some people have told me that this problem occurs when there is a RAM incompatibility. If you do have an upgrade in there try to put your old RAM back in and see if that solves the problem.

Matt

it would be better if they would upload the firmware so that anybody would have access to it
