Default Blue Screen of Death - Memory Management

Yo. I have F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL 2x4gb 1600mhz G.skill Ripjaws. I switched them on XMP profile 1 and after of 2 hours of gaming my PC got BSoD with Memory Management error. I Switched back to optimized defaults which disabled XMP. I supposed XMP was the best choice for settings but it seems like it isn't. Anyway my other hardware is i5 2500 for CPU and an Asus p8z68-v/gen3 for Motherboard. Bios is latest version. Also included the crash reports in a zip file.

Hi, to ensure where's the problem, please use "memtest" to test your memory, to see if any errors occurred.

mmm i don't have a CD Reader or a floppy or a usb device. I only have an external hard drive but i guess that won't work coz the usb device needs to have only the memtest to work i think? Unless you know some other way?

    sorry for missing your reply....

okay, if you don't have any other device for the Memtest, you may try install one memory ONLY, to see if any one of them were defective, seems like its the only way...

also, you can raising the DRAM voltage to 1.60v~1.65v to see if the BSOD still occurred or not.

You can run HCI Memtest (freeware) when you are in windows.
Read the FAQ and user manual to see how many instances you should run at one time.

Cool Re: Blue Screen of Death - Memory Management

    You're welcome.
HCI Memset is highly recommended by Lsdmeasap.

Do I win a free G.Skill memory kit?
8GB or 16GB of DDR2 1200MHz memory would be acceptable for my older systems.
Never mind, I like running with 4-4-4-10/12 settings.

Hey again. So i ran microsoft memory diagnostics and it found error in the 1st second. I let it finish and i got the logs listed as events attached to this post.Events.zip I run 4 mem tests as profjim suggested divided in 3x2000mb and the last one as all unused ram. When each one passed 100% i ended them. The last one found 977 errors and the other 3 none. The errors was like failed to copy accurate between xxxxxxx and 8f255c6 and sometimes about the pair 150099398. Also i got a new bsod lately after a restart. something about run driver identifier which i read in a forum that it might be hardware problem so it's still possible that 1 of my rams or both are defective. Any other things to try out like changing some bios settings or testing each memory seperately or change slots at motherboard?

What timings are u using now?
My gskill 1600z'have an xmp ..with its own secondary timings.
If you use defaults ..for the memory and maybe 9-9-9-24? my board reads the jedec timings on the chips for 1600..it doesnt make up its own.
Either way the xmp should work(provided the board enters the correct secondary timings.
You could try 1.55v and see if you get no errors ,or possibly a slight inc of vtt or vccio or whatever its called on your board(rhe v for the mc on the cpu). and test again.
Unless youre overclocking or using a base clock off 100 you would expect them to work ok.Lifetime guarantee anyway right?
