The ****ty gamecube got a price drop in europe as well.

...before it was even released.

Xbox is becoming affordable. That has to be good for sales.
Unfortunatly, the PS2 is still better value. MS need to secure more games and get them out on the shelves. asap.

Either theyre worried about the dismal sales, or their marketing team are geniuses.

Think about it. They release the xbox for 6-1k
the initial sales are slow
then they drop the price like a rock
and people want it.

and those who already got it, now get a free controller and 2 games.

yep, from $649 to $388 in a week...


either ms knew that this huge looking drop would make big money - or they truly didnt intend to drop the price from the beginning... either way it has worked - I work at K-Mart in warrnambool (not all that big a town) and I sold about 4 x-boxen in 10 minutes...
