yea everyone has to use AMI for UEFI, too bad too, if it was AWARD based then GB would have the best BIOS by far, no one would come close b/c they have the entire award BIOS team lol.
No more Award BIOS for X79 boards.
Now is "American Megatrends Inc." (AMI) BIOS,same as ASUS (8,192 KB).

I probably missed it cause I didnt read all 500 pages, but in the talk about the UD7 Motherboards and the ver2.0
As far as I can tell, it is a revamped EX-58 Extreme, Upgrades in 2.0 = USB 3.0, 1 extra PCI-E 16x, **1 less PCI 1x Everything else is exactly the same. This PCB has a whole lot of configuration possibilities. I wouldnt be surprised if we saw it @ver3.0 in the next couple of years. As it is, there isnt much point in going further at this point. Software has yet to catch up and this bad boy can rock a screamin i9.
So that being said, dont forget my mobo. The old one :-( LOL I like the extreme. A bit testy on heavy waterblocks though. Does not like to recognize video cards with Danger Den GTX295 waterblocks. Reason, hmmm. Kinda retarded. BUT, After 2 RMA's and a year of tweakin on it trying to get quad-SLi working properly I was only getting triple-SLi with 2 GTX295's, both waterblocked. I swapped positions of cards. Same crap. So after lots of pain I decided to try something totally unconventional. I took a 320grit diamond emory board and scarred up the contacts on the male PCI-E connector on both video cards and whalla! Come to find out it had nothing to do with the Mobo at all. It was the video cards. If the contacts are a dull color, polish them up. Fixed. The cards are not initially thought to be weighing in excess of 6lbs a piece. There are always going to be problems of some sort when adding 3rd party gear.

I have a 2 questions about GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD7 1.0
- Can someone mod the bios with latest roms like Intel RST 11.5, Marvell and Realtek LAN ?
- Why this motherboard is not compatible with Intel Extreme Tuning Utility like some other mobos from Gigabyte??
Thank you.

GA-X58A-UD7 rev.1.0 - F9d
1. Intel® RAID ROM 11.0.0.1124 - OK
2. Realtek LAN ROM 2.44 - OK
3. JMicron ROM 1.07.28 - OK
http://www.jzelectronic.de/jz2/Downl...d7f9d-mod3.exe
Intel RST 11.5 that stasio just posted a few hrs ago are drivers. Intel raid rom is what gets updated in bios's.
Also note that the 11.5 Intel RST driver is a Alpha build. These are before beta. As these are drivers for raid and usually you have important data on raid drives I would highly suggest staying away from alpha drivers unless you wanna live life on the edge. Wait until intel releases beta drivers.
