overclocking ep45-ud3r/Q9400

I just finished my first build and I'm looking for some advice. I am new to overclocking and am just looking to get a little more bang for my buck. I'm running the stock cpu fan so I was intending on increasing the clock speed without having to add much voltage.

On the build, only thing I see is 2 sets of memory. Most people have plenty with 4GB(2x2GB). If your trying to use all 8GB, you may have some troubles but maybe it will work fine? It should be OK stock but when you start OC'ing it could be an issue.


I would have waited for a 22" monitor as i got one onsale for the same price as that one, just have to wait for a deal.

Download realtemp 3.0 to monitor temps and that will tell you haw far you can go on stock cooling, well besides the voltage needed.

The stock CPU HS & Fan work fine for stock settings. You'll usually (always) get a performance improvement with better aftermarket cooling and especially so if you intend to OC.

Mixing RAM (brands) is never a good idea.

What is the bump about?

Do you have any issues, just not sure what you are asking here as advice has been given.
