I'll be getting a normal Debian install disc (not a netinst) and seeing if that has the updated sky2 module (that is supposed to have support for the NIC).

I'll run the commands you guys requested ASAP.
I've downloaded bad Ubuntu ISOs before, Some with good checksums but I burned it on bad media, or bad checksums and good media. I recommend PXE booting or USB booting installs anyway. Double check the checksum and the media.

    Good luck!

Here some good news from MSI - they are at work releasing an IOMMU supporting BIOS like Asus before them.

    > Thanks for contacting MSI Technical Support Team!
    > Regarding your concern, we will release a customized BIOS to add the IOMMU option in the BIOS setup.
    > However, we could not assure you there will be no bug at all in the customized BIOS. If you do agree on the item,
    > we will pass the customized BIOS to you as soon as possible.

Finally got the thing running. Once again, Crosshair IV. Results of the requests (Debian, no Xen):

falcon9xr, what's the kernel version? Is this Debian stable or testing?
    `uname -a`

And it looks like from the output of `ls /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/IVRS`, that it's a file, can we get a cat on that?
    `cat /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/IVRS`

Also, one more thing, I can't seem to read the google document, It's asking me to sign in and when I do I don't have permissions to read it.

    Thanks again! Cheers.

(Yes, that is the actual output)

Sorry about the doc, it should work now: lspci_vvv - Google Docs

IVRS file is attached as a ZIP.

Ouch, 2.6.26 is a "old" kernel... I don't even think AMD IOMMU has support until 2.6.30. Mind upgrading to testing for us? Or compile the latest kernel from kernel.org?
If you need help doing any of the two, post and I can help out here.

Thank you falcon9xf for the info.
The IVRS files is needed for IOMMU, it doesn't contain any readable info, but it is parsed by Xen.
    The motherboard has definitely IOMMU.
If you can install Xen 4.0 and run "xm dmesg", we can see the hypervisor boot logs.

I have attempted my install of Xen 4.0 with the pvops kernel (2.6.31 I think?) and many kernel panics later I managed to get the thing booting, but after it boots into X, it doesn't accept input from my keyboard or mouse. The clock works, so it doesn't seem like it has locked up. If you guys have any ideas, that would be great. Otherwise my next step is to just get the Xen 4.0 package from the Debian experimental repository.

Ok I got the backport of the 2.6.32 kernel:
    Code:
    9xrnet:/home/falcon9xr# uname -a
    Linux 9xrnet 2.6.32-bpo.4-amd64 #1 SMP Thu Apr 8 10:20:24 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
    And here are some results:
    Code:
    dmesg | grep -i -e IOMMU -e AMD-Vi -e IVRS
    [ 0.000000] ACPI: IVRS 00000000cfe9f9c0 000D0 (v01 AMD RD890S 00202031 AMD 00000000)
[ 0.000000] Please enable the IOMMU option in the BIOS setup
    [ 1.342182] AMD-Vi: Enabling IOMMU at 0000:00:00.2 cap 0x40
    [ 1.342183] AMD-Vi: device isolation enabled
    [ 1.342184] AMD-Vi: Lazy IO/TLB flushing enabled
ENABLED! woo! Good news so far. Now it just needs to be tested with Xen. Working on that too...

    Woohoo!! Nice! That's great news!

If you have time give KVM a try, that's a bit simpler to setup IMO. Use the virtual machine manager as a GUI way to configure/setup the VMs.

    Cheers! Thanks again!
