Urgent help required to setup Gigabyte 880gm USB3

Hi guys, yesterday i bought this config.

AMD Phenom II X4 955BE
Gigabyte 880-GM-USB3
4(2*2GB) 1333MHz Corsair DDRIII RAM
PowerColor HD5850 1GB GDDR5
WD 7200.12 500 GB
LG 22x DVD writer
Samsung S2233SW

Now the problem i am facing is that, i didn't get the windows installed from the assembler and decided to do it myself. I will tell u in steps what i have done and what problem i am facing:

• 1) So when i tried to install ( WIndows 7 Ultimate 32bit) , i was first asked that if i wish to switch from SATA to AHCI (Don't what does this mean) i selected yes and continued with my installation.
  2) But the installation didn't start so i restarted and entered BIOS and changed OnChip SATA Type to Native IDE from AHCI.
  3) Now i proceeded with installation and it was successful.
  4) Two things that i noticed was the installation was very slow as compared to when i do the same on my laptop. and secondly the system was quite unstable.
  
  • By unstable i mean:
    i)Sometimes it hangs while booting at black or brown background.
    ii)Sometimes my game just crashed to desktop with no reason.
    iii)The extraction of game was unusual. The files were created and instantly destroyed. I can't explain. I would just say a 3 gb game was reduced to 680mb after installation and ofcourse it didn't work so what i had to do was to extract the game in my laptop and then copy the 5gb extracted files to the PC and the game ran.
    iv) Now i am not being able to run my PC it just loads and hangs just before Welcome screen at the black background.
  
  
  5)After this i have tried to change to all possible options in OnChip SATA Type i.e Native IDE , AHCI , RAID but none works.
  6) Infact the last two mods don't even allow me to run a bootable disk. I can run a bootable disk only in the first mode.

So guys please help me. Please i am a noob in case of this stuff so please help guys i rely on u.

How can you game crash if you never got windows installed? Sorry I am a bit confused here

So do you have windows installed or not? As for AHCI/IDE, you cannot simply change this setting after you install, you must leave it how you had it when you originally installed.

I had the same problem, tried several times and always got error. What I did, I installed windows 7 using older computer and it was perfect, then moved the Hard drive to the new computer. Is working now.

for a fresh install of win7 select ide in bios and disable any floppy drives from the boot order and disable drive A,then insert win7 disk and it should install fine,if you want to switch to ahci later you can with a reg tweak after youve installed windows

install your os hdd in port 0 and any dvd sata drives in port 4 or 5

I would start with testing the memory. We use ( memtest86+ ) for memory testing. You gotta start somewhere. Are you sure you have the right memory? What is the memory kit part number?

When installing Windows you sort of choose between IDE and AHCI (checks from BIOS and uses same settings).
I would recommend to force IDE at the BIOS for Windows installation and once you've installed and its working then go to regedit on windows and change:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\servic es\msahci.
Start -> Modify: 0.
Reboot, change the Bios to AHCI and then it should boot up nice in AHCI mode.

Despite that I am having a different issue with my computer.
Performance is worst than my previous computer which was 5 years old.
3d mark in 1.720 with a Phenom II X6 1055T, 2gb of RAM and integrated ATI 4250.
Any ideas?

Yes, Did you have a ATI 4250 in your 5 year old system? Are you using onboard graphics? Which has 64bit memory bus width, Onboard graphics also uses more memory and cpu resources than a dedicated graphics solution. A Radeon HD4250 card will out perform the Radeon HD4250 onboard graphics. Any card with 128bit or 256bit memory bus will out perform a Radeon HD 4250 due to the bandwidth. Which is one of the readings the benchmark tests. The video memory bus width makes a huge difference in bandwidth. A 4250 has 64bit memory bus. If you want a higher benchmark you will want to get a video card that offers more memory bus speed.

you need more ram imo,more than 2gb and a 64bit operating system to make full use of it,and a more updated gpu,right now the fastest thing is your cpu

I am barely getting 6 or 7 fps average on the 3dmark06 and at some points it drops to 2 fps. Is that really what I should expect from this onboard graphics cards? OMG.

I also had Windows 7 64 bits on my old computer,
AMD 939 3200+
Asus A8V Deluxe
2 x 1 Gb DDR
Asus N660 TD 256Mb
80Gb SATA I HD.

And ran Starcraft 2 with acceptable performance. For what I've seen here (I tried Black Ops 2 and the force unleashed 2 at MINIMUN settings and they're unplayable), that old computer ran smoother with games.

I don't want to go get another 2, 4 or 6 gb of RAM and keep having the same problem, or purchasing a gaming graphic card if I don't need it yet.
I've seen youtube videos and comparisson charts wich place the onboard graphic card with Black ops at an between 20 to 30 FPS.
How come I am getting 5 times less? RAM?!?!

i didnt know you were using onboard graphics,i dont know much about amd systems,what amount of ram did they have on youtube? 2gb isnt much
