Can you create an Acronis bootable CD/DVD with your TI software.
If yes, you might be able to recover an image without booting into windows.
Have you checked with Acronis tech support to see if this is a known issue with AHCI?
I have been using Acronis TI for the last 5 years with great satisfaction. I have used it with the EP45-UD3R in all modes (IDE, AHCI and RAID). I have one problem and Acronis seems to be stuck. I cannot recover an image in AHCI mode; in Windows mode (after the reboot), it leads to a Kernel panic status. The recovery works with the CD media.
No problem with IDE and RAID.
And no problem with a Dell Studio 15 which operates natively in AHCI mode.
For information, I use the latest TI 2010 and have made a trial with TI 2011: the same problem occurs.
Does anybody have an idea? Thanks for any suggestion.

I have a bootable CD and I can recover by using the CD. No problem but it is strange not to be able to recover from Windows. When Linux takes over and boots, then comes the Kernel panic message. And the system gets stuck.
I am in contact with Acronis support but they also seem to be stuck.
We shall see if somebody has an idea or has encountered the same problem.
Hello jr39,
Thank you for using Acronis products. Please let me help you.
This issue can be caused by corrupt bootable components. I would really appreciate if you can send me a private message with the case number that our Support team is working on so that I can assist you with this issue.
Please let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you.
Great to see Acronis Support join up to address this, be careful and do not send any private info to this user via PM, just in case he is not actually an Acronis official rep.
No offense meant to anyone, just trying to keep everyone safe!
